CALNE recorded back-to-back Dorset & Wilts Two North away wins with a systematic dismantling of Swindon College Old Boys 2XV at the Ridgeway Leisure Centre.

With a number of regular players missing, Calne welcomed back Seb, Shipway (centre), Danny Stiles (wing) and Rhys Davies (flanker turned wing) and all played their part as Calne quickly established control.

The front row consisting of Pete Brownlie, Dave Evans (hooker) and captain Tom Morten controlled the scrums and provided a solid platform for Adam Baker and Marcus Turner to release the backs to run at Swindon's defensive line.

Calne pinned their opponents deep in their own half for much of the game with some pinpoint kicking to touch and with the visitors lineout working well and Bruce Harper stealing lineout ball it soon became clear that it would be a difficult day for the spirited hosts.

Calne’s first score came from a dominant scrum which drove the opposing pack over the try line before the ever-reliable Alan Wicks dived over to score the first try of the match.

From the restart Calne pressed and carries from Brownlie, Harper and Adam Young kept Swindon on the back foot.

Both Brownlie and Young scored in the first half, breaking through multiple tackles to put the visitors further ahead.

Before half time Harper was on the scoresheet himself as he crashed over to claim another score.

During the second half, Calne scored a further two tries without reply to record back to back wins without conceding a single point.
