DEVIZES' league momentum was brought to a shuddering halt as they were felled by relegation-threatened Frome.

The Saddlebacks slipped further off the pace in Southern Counties South as two second-half sin-binnings cost them dear.

Playing down the slope in the first half the visitors thought they'd had a legitimate try chalked off when Chris Barter was adjudged to have been denied by the home full-back and also had Tom Reed sin-binned before the break.

After it, skipper Andy Thompson's link-up with Travis Orton saw the final pass go to ground for Devizes, who then had Jorge Wadman sin-binned.

Frome took advantage to score in the corner before number eight Phil Meenan dotted down from a close-range scrum.

George Starr made a superb retreating tackle for Devizes but was then sin-binned and it wasn't long before Frome added their third try.

To make matters worse for the Saddlebacks, prop Reed was given a second yellow card for obstruction, although they did score a try of their own when Josh Lewis spotted a mismatch and galloped through the hole before sending the supporting Barter over, Thompson converting.
