CHIPPENHAM shipped 10 tries as they subsided to their seventh straight defeat in National Three South West on Saturday.

The visitors made a decent start, but despite being only 11 points adrift at half time, they were eventually soundly beaten by the home side's second-half display.

A try to the good just after the 10-minute mark, Chippenham held out until just beyond the midway point of the first half when Hornets' Jermaine Jones made ground and recycled ball was sent wide for Joseph Gadd to go through the gap and score.

With Hornets getting the better of the scrum, they took control as James Letherby's pass released Robert Dempsey through another hole for the second score, Jones adding the extras.

A further Jones break allowed Conor Littlewood to cross the whitewash , Jones again kicking the conversion to establish the double-figure lead before the break.

The home side stepped on the gas after half time, electing for a scrum from an early penalty in the second half, allowing Matthew Parker and Littlewood to combine for the latter to go over.

The same option from another penalty saw Chippenham reduced to 14 men and this time Parker went over to take the game further away from the visitors.

As the game opened up, Hornets back three made hay, Jones and Charlie Carter adding two tries each on the wings and Littlewood completing his hat-trick.
