PEWSEY served up a sparkling seven-try showpiece of running rugby to run out big winners over Sutton Benger.

Vale dominated territory and possession for most of the game, although the energy and enthusiasm of the youthful Sutton Benger side restricted their scoring opportunities in the first half.

Played in blustery conditions, with intermittent drizzle and periods of driving rain, handling errors spoiled many first-half chances.

It was a full 30 minutes before wing Toni Bloomfield scored the first try, converted by fly-half James Haynes, to put his side 7-0 to the good at the break.

Pewsey upped their game after the break and their six second-half tries were split equally between forwards and backs.

Five minutes after restart, following a strong forward drive, number eight Phil Vallis forced his way over for a touchdown.

Vale then scored three tries in 10 minutes, with wing Charlie Dixon, flanker Chris Bratley and scrum-half Chris Takel all dotting down, and Haynes converting all four scores.

The visitors rallied but never managed to get out of their own half and Vale finished off the game with two more tries.

Centre Ty Lewis scored in the corner and Vallis crossed for his second just before the final whistle, with Haynes slotting the latter.
