AN impressive second-half display saw Royal Wootton Bassett U18A stun Wimborne Colts A 20-15.
The hosts stormed into the lead with a converted try after seven minutes however, Bassett captain Jake O’Neill crossed to make it 7-5.
Wimborne extended their advantage with an unconverted try before Harry Russ fed Elye Darragh after 28 minutes.
With 20 minutes to go Bassett brought the scores level with a superb team try finished by Harry Longmore, before Darragh ran in from 20 yards to claim the win.
Meanwhile, Bassett’s under 18 B side completed a 39-10 win over Swindon’s under 18s.
Swindon’s number eight Ollie Walsh put the hosts into a 3-0 lead before Josh Bowden broke from halfway to score Bassett’s first converted try before captain William Fieldsend extend the lead through a penalty.
Bassett increased their advantage when they were awarded a penalty try before second row Jake Hughes Miles scored the third and Luke Stoneham added a fourth.
Bassett’s fifth try came from Seb Talbot when he was found by scrum-half Rhys Cliff.
Swindon scored a consolation try, but Ben Humphries completed the scoring for the visitors.
