CHIPPENHAM RFC have been playing Rugby in the town for 117 years and are holding a past players’ reunion on Saturday, March 7.
The club are inviting all previous players who might have played at Allington Fields or at the previous home at Birch Grove, to a lunch before the first XV match against Newbury Blues.
Established in Chippenham in 1898, the club hopes to contact more than 150 previous players, going back as far as the 1950s.
Club president Stuart Murrow said: “The club has been at the heart of the Chippenham community for a very long time and it would be great to see as many old players at the reunion as possible.
“Over 50 attended a similar event last season and we hope to welcome back even more on March 7.’’ Chippenham has produced six players that have gone on to full international honours, including Chris Horsman, Kevin Yates and Kim Oliver.
They’ve also had 21 players represent their country at schoolboy or age-group level.
To attend the reunion, email Murrow on president@chippenhamrfc.co.uk or clubhouse manager, Lesley Read at clubhouse@chippenhamrfc.co.uk.
