MARLBOROUGH’S lead at the top of the Dorset & Wilts One North table now stands at eight points after they romped to victory at Cricklade on Saturday.

Chris Budgen’s side fielded two sets of brothers, with Jack and Josh Lynd in the second row and Aiden and RJ Horwood at flanker and wing respectively.

The visitors got straight into their scoring stride, running in four quick tries within the first 10 minutes.

The first came from a good passing move by the backs and a break by Avenai Cakaunitavuki to set up Russ Westcott to score under the posts.

Nathan Morgan scored the next with a good step to score from 40 yards out.

Injury to RJ Horwood meant Joe Mitchell went onto the wing and he scored the next after a decisive break by Jonny Mantle.

Cakaunitavuki, Josh Lynd, Mantle, scrum-half Stu Williamson, Westcott again and Reece Kinnett all scored before half time, Morgan booting six conversions for a 57-0 advantage.

In the second half, Westcott completed his hat trick, as did Mantle, the pick of his tries being a perfectly-judged cross-field kick by Westcott that was caught in the air.

Jack Lynd got on the scoresheet to match his brother and Cakaunitavuki got a second, Morgan taking his conversion tally to 10.
