HARDENHUISH School’s Year Seven team won the area tournament hosted by Devizes School.

Fourteen teams from Wiltshire entered the tournament which was run in two pools, each consisting of seven teams.

The Hardenhuish team played consistently throughout the initial play-off rounds, remaining undefeated and without conceding a single try in all six games.

Victories were secured against teams from Lavington, St Laurence, Abbeyfield, Devizes, Malmesbury B, and Sheldon B Schools.

The team progressed into the semi-final where they faced their toughest opposition from Sheldon School.

Following a 20-0 victory earlier in the season, Hardenhuish followed up to secure a 15-5 victory to reach the final where they defeated Malmesbury School 5-0.

PE teacher Paul Fox said: “All in all, it was an excellent and exhausting day of exhilarating rugby by all involved.

“All the boys should be very proud of their performances. They played brilliantly in all of their games and they are a credit to the school.”
