PEWSEY’S total forward domination paved the way for a bonus-point triumph in their opening home Dorset & Wilts One North match of the season.
Vale poured forward from the kikc-off and set up camp in Minety’s half.
Following ten minutes of sustained pressure, number eight Phil Vallis touched down as the scrum drove over the line, a try converted by scrum half Tom Taylor.
Five minutes later Minety responded with a well-taken converted try from a tapped penalty.
Pewsey drove forward to again camp in Minety territory for the remainder of the half and held the balance of power in the lineout and scrum.
Two further Pewsey tries closed off the first half.
Centre Chris Spence produced an individual arcing run, beating several defenders, to score in the corner.
Then, with ten minutes of the half to go, Vallis was forced over the line by a dynamic forward move, popping the ball to flanker Nav Navelinikoro who scored.
Taylor added the extras for a 19-7 advantage.
Minety dug deep and, for the first 20 minutes of the second period, held firm against Pewsey pressure.
They were reduced to 14 men by a yellow card though and, from a mid field ruck Vallis broke through the centre and sped 40 metres up field, before passing to supporting prop Dave Sharp, fly-half Vee Vuira converting.
With five minutes to go Spence was in for his second of the day, as quick ball from a line out launched the backs, Spence finishing off under the posts, converted by Vuira.
Minety scored a consolation try in the dying moments.
