DEVIZES wrapped up a top-half finish in their maiden South West One East season as they won a topsy-turvy clash at Marlow.

The Saddlebacks soared into a 19-0 lead, but were stunned by a home comeback before secuirng victory, despite the sending-off of Damon Murphy for a second yellow card.

Second row partner Lewis Paget burst through after some repeated phases for the opening score before skipper Tom Collins got in on the act with a well-taken try – his 12th of the season – Rory Brown converting.

Mark Carter then cut a fine line through the defence, Brown again adding the extras to leave the visitors in command after half an hour.

Marlow secured an important converted try before the break and, following the sin-binning of Murphy early in the second half, added two quick converted tries to nudge into a two-point lead.

Devizes hit back though getting the bonus-point try as Julian Taylor scored. Brown converted and added two late penalties to clinch victory before Murphy saw red.
