Turner's horses might be worth a bet

Alan King and jockey Richard Thornton continue to churn out the winners from Barbury Castle, the pair landing a 7/2 double via Trigger Light in the novices chase and Prince Du Seuil at Warwick on Tuesday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the opening day of the new flat season takes place at Doncaster where the feature race is the William Hill Lincoln Handicap run over a straight mile.

Twenty two runners are expected to go to post for the event with the horses that are balloted out running in the Spring Mile earlier in the afternoon.

Top jockey Ryan Moore has been booked for the Irish trained Little White Lie while last year's winner Very Wise will be the mount of Jimmy Fortune.

Trying to pick the winner would look to be an impossible task but perhaps a bet each way on Yeaman's Hall and the appropriately named Heaven Knows could provide a small profit.

The meeting gets underway with the first two-year-old race of the season, the Brocklesby Conditions Stakes.

Trainer Bill Turner always has his two-year-olds ready to run and perhaps an each way bet on his two runners, Gone Hunting and Sally's Dilemma, could get backers off to a good start.

Form wise it will probably be best to stick to the all weather meeting at Kempton where joint champion jockey Jamie Spence would look to have some good rides aboard Choreography in the first race on the card, Fastella in the following event and Dansant in the Listed Dragonfly Stakes later in the afternoon.

Qadar could be handy in the seven furlong handicap at 5pm and in the final race on the card Broad Hinton trainer Andy Turnell could send punters home happy courtesy of Outlandish, the mount of local jockey Alan Daly.

Jumping fans are catered for with meetings at Newton Abbot, Haydock and Carlisle while Wolverhampton stages its ever popular evening meeting under lights beginning at 6.50pm.
