NELL: We can take heart from performances

WE HAD two losses on the weekend but we performed a lot better than we have done recently.

On Saturday we were without our main goaltender Geoff Woolhouse against Manchester Pheonix but we played well overall.

We went on to lose 7 - 4 by giving a few bad goals away but for the team we had out it wasn't too bad and our second goalie Oli Lansdowne made some good saves.

On Sunday we were beaten 9 - 1 away to Peterborough Phantoms.

The scoreline sounds terrible and it was a bad result but we were in the game for half of it and even at 4-1 were getting chances but they just weren't materialising into goals.

Confidence is low but it happens and the boys need to fight to bounce back.

It's about working hard to get the basics right.

The bottom line is that we didn't work hard enough for long enough in both games but we're focussing on performances first and I think that we can be happy with the way we played overall.

On Saturday we've got the Phantoms again at the Link Centre which is a chance for payback and we travel to take on Slough Jets on Sunday.
