Castle Combe Action Day a sell-out

The first Action Day of the season at Castle Combe circuit on April 19 is a sell-out after attracting record advance bookings.

Almost 100 Owners' Clubs representing just about every performance car manufacturer have booked space at the Action Day which promises to attract a record turn-out of car enthusiasts.

The Performance Car Action Day is now in its third year and new features include a Drifting display at lunchtime and special sessions for cars with over 200bhp under the bonnet.

The event has also attracted a wide range of trade stands while competition will be fierce for the "Car of the Show" and Club Stand of the Show" awards.

Castle Combe circuit near Chippenham in Wiltshire probably originated track-based driving days for road cars some 25 years ago, giving enthusiasts the cheapest opportunity to take their cars onto a circuit with £30 track sessions.

Vehicles must be street legal and comply with the circuit's strict sound limits, while driving behavior is monitored by marshals. There are also special "New to Track" sessions for drivers who have not driven on a circuit before.

While track time sessions are now fully booked spectators can still take advantage of booking on line to save money or pay for admission on the day.

Track action lasts from 09.00 to 17.00 with barely a pause for breath and clubs are already booking for the next Retro & Sportcar Action Day on June 14.

Admission in advance is adults £8.00, or £10 on the day while under-15s are free of charge.
