WILTSHIRE racers Louis Harvey and Dominic Kilmister excelled with podium finishes at pre-season races at Larkhall's Summerlee Raceway in Scotland ahead of the 2018 Tuto SuperOne Series (British Karting Championship)
Malmesbury's Louis Harvey and Chippenham's Dominic Kilmister were in action, Harvey suffering a blow in the first heat after suffering a collision with rival Daniel Butterworth, which forced him to limp his Klaassen Motorsport ARC kart back to the pits.
In the second heat on a wet track, Harvey started from the back of the grid in his patched-up kart, but worked his way back up the pack into fifth position.
Heat three saw Harvey finish fourth, placing him sixth for the start of the final, alongside county rival Kilmister.
Despite being a rookie and the youngest driver in a strong field of SuperOne drivers, 12 year old Kilmister had picked up a solid sixth in the first heat in his SJMotorsports kart, a fine third in the wet in the second heat and sixth again in the third heat.
In drier conditions for the final, Harvey finished third, but was promoted to second after the official awarded a one-lap penalty to the driver in front of him. Kilmister, who had finished fourth, was promoted into third position, Kilmister's teammate Morgan Kidd winning the final.
