THE sixth and final round of the 2016 Castle Combe Karting Championship took place last weekend.

Heading into the final round there was still a three-way fight for the title between Ben Winter (Bristol), Oliver Bayani (Bristol) and Michael Seabourne (Swindon) but by the time of the final Bayani had already clinched the championship, having won all four heats and his semi-final.

A faster semi final run put Seabourne on pole for the final but, after Winter had fallen to the back of the field after getting stuck in the barriers, Bayani dived up the inside of Seabourne on the final lap and took the victory Jeremy Woodward drove brilliantly to fend off Archie Cousins and take third place.

Winter pipped Seabourne second in the championship by just one point, with Archie Cousins (Corsham) doing exactly the same to pip Kieran Dawson (Reading) to fourth place.

Woodward (Bristol) rounded out the top six, also taking the Masters Championship, while the Best Sportsman award went to Gary Paddock (Worle).
