MALMESBURY speedster Louis Harvey clinched second place in the final of the annual Midlands Championship at Rissington Kart Club.

Starting seventh in his first heat, Harvey stormed through to win it and claimed a sixth spot in his second heat on day two, despite spinning at a dogleg while lying third.

Starting on pole in heat three, Harvey was involved in a four-way fight for the lead but, while battling for first with leader Joshua Martin, was forced wide, allowing two more rivals through.

That left the youngster in a starting position of third for the final and he and Martin pulled away.

Harvey then took a chance on late braking into the dogleg on the last lap while dicing for first place, but out-braked myself and had to settle for second, although he did record the fastest lap of the final of 48.57 seconds.

Harvey is looking for more Sponsors to raise enough support to enter the Super One championship on Motors TV.
