DEVIZES racing driver Jake Honour added two more podiums to his 2015 season tally during the penultimate event of the Michelin Clio Cup Road Series campaign at Oulton Park to boost his chances of a top-two championship finish.

Beginning the event impressively with pole position for both races, rounds 10 and 11, Honour finished second to points leader and Jade Developments teammate Luke Pinder in the opening contest and then added third place in race two later in the day.

Honour posted the fastest lap in round 10, finishing the contest just over a second behind Pinder, while in round 11 he tried absolutely everything to wrestle second place from Tyler Lidsey after a sluggish start from pole.

Swarming all over the back of Lidsey’s car, Honour tried everything but had to settle for third at the flag on lap 12.

“I’m really pleased with second in the first race and the fastest lap. I was really gaining a lot on Luke in a few places but found out afterwards he had lost his power steering so that accounts for some of it,” said Honour.

“We were still quick, though, and it was a really good clean race.”

Next stop for the Michelin Clio Cup Road Series will be the season finale five weeks from now, on September 19-20, at Silverstone International Circuit in Northamptonshire.
