TOMMY Bridewell dusted himself off from a first-race crash to finish just off the podium in his second outing at the latest MCE British Superbike Championship round at Thruxton.
The Etchilhampton rider needed a visit to the medical centre after being taken out in the opening outing, but bounced back to finish fourth next time out.
Bridewell, now sixth in the overall standings, said: “It is disappointing having a DNF again in race one, but it wasn’t my fault.
“I’m just glad I was able to get out for race two, after being potentially deemed unfit to ride, so fourth place isn’t bad considering.’’ Team manager Philip Neill admitted: “It honestly was touch and go if he (Bridewell) would ride in race two after being knocked off, as he took a heavy bang to the head.’’
