TOMMY Bridewell admits that switching teams in the British Superbike Champ-ionship is always a gamble but his decision to sever ties with Milwaukee Yamaha was purely his own decision.

The 26-year-old, from Etchilhampton, secured a third-placed finish in the BSB standings last season, securing six podium finishes and a race win at Cadwell Park along the way.

But with Shaun Muir’s Milwaukee announcing Broc Parkes and Josh Brookes as their duo for next term, Bridewell’s departure was confirmed.

The Wiltshire racer has all but confirmed his destination for the 2015 campaign and is looking forward to a new set of surroundings, even if he can’t yet confirm where he’ll be riding.

“The grass isn’t always greener on the other side but sometimes it’s nice to have a change of scenery and that’s what I’m going to be doing,” said Bridewell.

“It was my decision and there weren’t any outside influences on it.

“Milwaukee have some experienced personnel in their organisation, but there were a few little things last year.

“It was a tough year mentally and I told Shaun that I wouldn’t be renewing my contract.

Bridewell added: “I have agreed something with a new team in the championship and they want to announce it and tell people their plans.

“But because of a few different things, they haven’t been able to do it yet.

“So I’ve just got to keep it under wraps for now.”
