BEN Gilbert sealed victory in Castle Combe’s Junior Championship with a maximum points haul to win the final round.

After a season in which there were seven different winners in ten rounds, the Bath driver won from Marley Joffe (Wick).

Ben Chick (Cheddar), who made every final of the season bar the last one, ended up equal on points with Archie Cousins (Corsham), but took third place on countback.

Billy Thompson (Bristol), who was the early leader in the championship finished fifth and there was another tie on points for sixth between Fraser Denoon (Bristol), who took it on countback, and Jack Fisher (Bristol).

The best novice prize saw Ethan Jury (Bristol) just pipping Rebecca MacDonald (Tewkesbury) by a point. Ned Neal (Dolton) was third, with Macdonald outscoring Martha Hopes (Stroud) and Jade Page (Trowbridge) to take home the best female trophy.
