We must go into the play-offs on a winning run
The two defeats against Slough Jets and Guildford Flames at the weekend were very disappointing and they added to our poor recent run, which we of course need to get out of.
We scored two goals from 38 shots against Guildford on Sunday, which is disappointing
because, offensively, we have been very good lately.
Everyone knows what Joel Petkoff can do, it is a question of others
chipping in with a fair share of goals, which they are not doing at the
present time.
And obviously we need to start picking up some points now after four
consecutive defeats in the league. It is coming up to the time when we need to start being consistent and we need to find some form to get into the play offs - and start them well.
You always need to start hitting top form in February as the league
finishes in the middle of next month
Now we have to prepare to host Telford Tigers on Saturday and then travel to Wightlink Raiders on Sunday.
We have beaten both teams this season, Wightlink more than once, so we have to go into the games with some
confidence.
Although people will be expecting us to beat Wightlink, we have to be careful and offer them the same respect as we would do Slough or Peterborough.
We need to kick-start our season again because it is in danger of faltering.
And for us to stand a chance in the play-offs we need to get a winning
mentality - fast.
