WOOTTON Bassett got off to a positive start in their West Clubs League North Division clash as Emma Collison ran straight at Bristol from the whistle.
The visitors conceded an early penalty flick that Helen Wright slotted home.
More fine build-up play from teh home side saw Sarah Newcombe’s effort brilliantly saved before Wright was denied by a goalline clearance.
Bristol came back into it but the Bassett defence of Emily Hawkings, Helen Wright and Tracy Fieldsend proved too strong and Wright played a one-two with Becky Johnson from a short corner to fire home the second.
Both sides had chances in the second half but Bristol made some late substitutions and pulled a goal back in the final 10 minutes.
