RICH Fynn’s hat-trick did the damage as Marlborough stayed top of the GoCrea8 League Conference North with a 7-0 thrashing of Team Bath Buccs C.

The hosts got on the board with a short corner deflected in by Charlie Hawley and went further ahead going into half-time with two goals from Fynn, Will Hughes’ tap-in) before Fynn nailed a drag-flick into the top corner to complete his treble.

Marlborough added further goals through Hawley and Alex Renwick.

Devizes were edged out 3-2 at home by West Wilts.

Trailing by three early in the second period, the hosts fought back as Roger Edwards dispatched a flick before a deflected goal from Andy Tookey led to a frantic last five minutes Chippenham sit on top of Central One after getting the better of their top-of-the-table clash with Old Bristolians.

Trailing by a goal early on, the home side levelled when Mark Knight scored after a fine passage of play.

Martyn Partridge’s pass, followed by a first-time reverse deflection from Craig Kilminster earned the lead and it was 3-1 at the break as Jack Stanley poached a third.

Kilminster’s second made it 4-1 before the Bristol side pulled a goal back.

In Central Two, Marlborough A were soundly beaten 5-0 by Royal Wootton Bassett, who went top of the table, while Chippenham A were also shut out as they lost 4-0 to Bristol Uni C.

Devizes A were 4-3 winners at City of Bath C to extend their winning streak in East Central One to three games, captain Callum Lavens giving them the lead before Bath hit back to lead 2-1 at half-time.

Two clinical finishes from Felix Plant responded after Bath had scored their third before Alex Carter deflected home the winner.

Chippenham B lost out 2-0 at Yate A, while in East Central Two Marlborough B lowered the colours of leaders Shepton Mallet 2-0 in Somerset, Chris Newton and Harry Strover netting Chippenham C drew 1-1 with Corsham, Mark Dodd’s penalty restoring parity, while the D team were 3-1 winners over Royal Wootton Bassett B, Sean Lane scoring twice and Liam Guppy the other.
