JORDAN Smith returns to action on the European Tour today for the first time in more than a month when he tees off in the first round of the Open de Espana.
Derry Hill’s Smith has not played since he failed to make the cut at the Qatar Masters back in the final week of February.
It has been a frustrating second season for the Bowood player on European golf’s top tier so far, with Smith having made the cut just times in six events and recording a best finish of tied 26th at February’s Oman Open.
The 25-year-old, who won the secondary Challenge Tour’s Order of Merit in 2016, will be hoping for better fortunes this week at the Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid.
Smith gets his first round under way at 1.45pm BST this afternoon alongside fellow Englishman Andy Sullivan and Paraguay’s Fabrizio Zanotti.
