JORDAN Smith has produced another fine performance at golf’s top table, after shooting a two- under-par round of 70 at the Porsche European Open.

The 24-year-old from Derry Hill got things going from the off as he collected three birdies on opening three holes in Hamburg.

He recorded birdie threes on the par four first and third hole, while he also took just three shots on the par three second.

The Bowood ace progress was then curtailed on the fourth, when he picked up a double bogey six to take his score back to one under par from there Smith settled himself well with six straight pars up until the par five 11th, where he registered his fourth birdie of the day.

Three holes later, the European Tour rookie got his fifth birdie when it took him just two strokes to complete the 14th but he gave a shot back at the 16th with a bogey six before parring the final two holes.
