DAVID Howell was one a trio of Wiltshire golfers who failed to make the cut at the Tshwane Open today.
The Swindon ace has endured a miserable 2017 where he has yet to make it to the weekend rounds.
And his round of one-over-par 72 did little to make amends for his level par 71 on the opening day.
The two-time Ryder Cup winner was joined by Cumberwell Park’s Laurie Canter and Steve Surry is making an early exit in Pretoria as they finished with scores of four-over and seven-over respectively.
However, Bowood’s Jordan Smith continued to impress in his rookie year on the European Tour as he followed up his two-under 69 opening round with a three-under 68 to leave himself five shots off the lead going into the weekend rounds.
