JORDAN Smith remains in contention for the second top 10 finish of his debut season on the European Tour after the third day's play at the Qatar Masters today.
Derry Hill's Smith, who recorded a third-placed finish at the SA Open earlier this month, shot a one-under-par 71 at Doha GC to lie at eight under par overall.
Although the Bowood player, 24, was seven shots adrift of the leader Jeunghun Wang, who shot 65, he is only a shot outside the top 10 ahead of the final round tomorrow.
Smith birdied the fifth, 11th, 14th and 16th on day three, dropping shots at the third, the sixth and, for the third day running, the 15th on his way to his 71.
