WILTSHIRE Ladies concluded the Inter County Match Week at Somerset's Mendip Golf Club in fourth place.
Up against the host county, plus Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Gloucestershire, Wiltshire played five matches, featuring morning foursomes and afternoon singles.
Wiltshire narrowly lost to Dorset (5-4), ollowed by losses to both Cornwall (6-3) and Gloucestershire (7-2).
However, the penultimate day proved spectacular for Carol Main's team with a fine win over Devon (5-4).
During her singles match against Devon, Chippenham’s Ali Grandison holed-in-one at the eighth before Wiltshire played hosts Somerset on the final day and went on to win the match 6 -3.
Gloucestershire were the overall winners and will go on to represent the South West region in the English Women’s County Finals (Sepotember 12-16) at Waterlooville in Hampshire.
