WILTSHIRE have selected their team for the upcoming South West Week as they bid to represent the region in September’s English county championships.

Captain Paul Green, who plays out of Marlborough, and vice-skipper Ali James, of Cumberwell Park, have included the likes of England A international Ben Amor and Ogbourne Downs’ Jake Bolton, who helped Wiltshire win the English Boys’ County Championship last summer.

The county will tee-off South West Week on Saturday for seven days of inter-county face-offs against the representative sides of host Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset at St Enodoc, with the competition including the South West Amateur Championship.

South West Week also sees the six counties vie to represent the region in the national championships at Sandwell Park, in the West Midlands, on September 23-25.

Wiltshire finished fourth in the qualifying standings in 2015, with Somerset winning out and going on to finish second overall in the English county finals at Wychwood Park.

Wiltshire team to take part in South West Week (June 4-10): Jake Bolton (Ogbourne Downs); Jamie Amor (Marlborough); Simon Futcher (Marlborough); Ben Amor (Marlborough); Gary Slade (Bowood); Luke Gorman (Bowood); Jake Charman (North Wilts); Ali James (vice-captain, Cumberwell Park); Paul Green (captain, Marlborough); Tom Law (Broome Manor).
