MARLBOROUGH Golf Club seniors captain David Ferris raised more than £2000 for his nominated charity, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Ferris decided to continue with the Air Ambulance in memory of Phil Smith, the originally-elected captain, who died shortly after taking up the post.

Ferris said: ‘I’m delighted I was able to continue with Phil Smith’s nominated charity. The Wiltshire Air Ambulance is such a worthy cause.

“I would also like to thank Steve Faulkner of Dick Lovett BMW and Jeremy Tomlinson, of Titleist, who were so generous in helping me reach the £2000 target.’ Rebecca de la Bedoyere, fundraising manager at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “We are so grateful to David and everyone at Marlborough Golf Club for their fundraising efforts.

“They raised a fantastic amount. It’s a testament to their hard work and enthusiasm and shows how groups of like-minded people can really make a difference and have fun at the same time.

“Every penny raised will help fund our life-saving work across Wiltshire and beyond.”
