High hopes: Cumming with the 1.70m bar she jumped

Athletics: Under 17 athlete Heather Cumming smashed her personal best three times in the high jump on Saturday.

Heather, from Box representing Team Bath, was competing in the Southern Women's Division 2 match at Bournemouth.

She sailed over 1.63m which qualifies her for the English Schools competition in July.

She then cleared 1.68m at the second attempt which is the National standard and to complete a fantastic series of jumps, cleared 1.70m.

Her coach, Deborah Bray from Potterne said: "To qualify for the Schools at her first outdoor meeting is exceptionally good and takes a whole load of pressure off her."
