SWIMMING: Finals for Chippenham duo

CHIPPENHAM ASC had two finalists on the last day of the Regional Age Group Championships at Millfield School.

Matt Hare, 13, was fourth in the 100m butterfly and John Branston, 14), eighth in his 100m butterfly final.

Hare was also 12th in the 200m individual medley, ninth in the 200m backstroke, 10th in the 200m freestyle and seventh in the 400m IM.

Hare was 11th in the points competition for best overall swimmer in each age group. Peter Holden, 14, was 14th in the 400m IM.

For the girls, Tegan Cairns, 10, was just two one-hundredths of a second from taking a place in the final of the 200m free style in finishing ninth. Cairns was also 13th in the 200m IM. Chloe May, 12, was 40th in the 100m backstroke
