FORMER Swindon Town skipper Nathan Thompson is set to return with his current club Portsmouth for a pre-season friendly at the County Ground on July 21 (3pm), it has been confirmed.
The League One outfit will arrive in Wiltshire two weeks before the start of the EFL season in the first summer contest confirmed by Town ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
West Brom, relegated from the Premier League at the end of this season, have also been mooted as possible friendly opponents for Phil Brown's side, who are also poised to travel to Ireland for a short summer tour.
Thompson signed a two-year deal with Pompey after leaving Town on a free transfer at the end of last season, having made 187 appearances for the club, scoring four goals.
