DAVID Flitcroft is delighted to have given Swindon Town’s loyal home supporters much more satisfaction in recent weeks but is determined to ensure his team don’t stop now.

Town’s 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers in League Two last Saturday saw them make it back-to-back wins at the Energy Check County Ground for the first time this season, having beaten Notts County by the same scoreline on December 30.

Swindon had largely found life tough going in front of their own fans before that County match, winning just four of their first 15 games at SN1 this season.

Flitcroft and his players have worked tirelessly to find a solution to their home woes and although the early signs suggest that has been found, the Town chief will continue to give his all so that there can be many more memorable afternoons for the Swindon faithful.

“We have tried to do everything possible to win for our home fans and the players have been hurting this season when they have not done – they are the ones that come in on Monday morning and are still not happy,” said the manager.

“In the last two games they have been fantastic and really dug in for two clean sheets at home.

“We will keep working on it and keep trying to improve it and give our home fans more of what we saw after the game on Saturday – they can celebrate and they can have the bragging rights for the weekend.

“It’s important because you want the home form to get better, you want the home fans to connect with it “When you are on a downward spiral at home, you can get that apprehension but as soon as that changes and you can get three or four or five on the bounce, that is something the players can vibe off.

“We have got to keep working on that and that is what we will commit to doing.”

Town are back on the road this weekend and will be looking to extend this season’s stunning away form when they travel to Coventry City.

Swindon will be hunting a 12th win from 17 matches in all competitions on their travels in 2017-18.
