WILTSHIRE headed into the final day of their Unicorns Championship Western Division clash at Corsham CC today hunting the 10 Dorset wickets to give them a first three-day victory of the season.

The hosts consolidated their strong day one position on the second day's play yesterday, dismissing Dorset for 232, replying to Wiltshire's mammoth 44-36, then adding further runs to set up a declaration and leave the visitors needing more than 400 to clinch an unlikely victory.

Young Swindon bowler Jake Goodwin starred as Dorset's first innings ended 210 short of the home side's, taking three wickets, while Tahir Afridi, Joe King and Jake Lintott claimed two apiece, with none of the Dorset batsmen able to make a significant impact.

Wiltshire returned to the crease, where first-innings double centurion Steve Bullen again excelled, scoring 75 from 79 balls but their progress was slowed by the bowling of Jigar Naik, who claimed 7-46 in 11.3 overs.

The home side declared at 196-9, setting Dorset 409 for victory, with the visitors at 19-1 at stumps.
