LIAM Dawson has been left out for the England one-day international squad for the early part of the new season.
The Hampshire all-rounder from Calne spent the winter with Trevor Bayliss’ squad in India and West Indies.
However, as England gear up to face Ireland and South Africa and take part in the ICC Trophy, the 27-year-old must try and improve his county form if he is to force his way back into the international fold.
In the opening three games of the County Championship Division One season, Dawson has picked up seven wickets at an average of 45.29, while with bat, in four innings, he has only scored 89 runs.
