FOUR athletes representing Lavington Athletics Club enjoyed a successful competition on day two of the third Midland Open in Birmingham.

F38 disability athlete Charlie Goodwin increased his personal best in the discus, as did U17 competitor Niamh Flanagan, who twice exceeded her previous mark, putting her sixth in the country and just 28cms off the UK top 100 target.

U17 Louis Streeter clocked two new bests in his 60m and 100m.

Meanwhile U15 Matt Bark-Churchill’s 60m time was his best and made him number one in the south west, while his excellent new personal best 100m time of 11.97 put him number one in the south west and fourth in the country.

The quartet are all coached at the Lavington club by Deborah Bray.
