CHIPPENHAM Park finally brought an end to their 16-game winless streak with a 2-1 triumph over Westbury United in the Toolstation First Division.

Westbury took the lead in the 26th minute through Daniel Price before the game was halted after the referee picked up an injury.

The break gave Park boss Brett Partner the chance to motivate his players for the remainder of the first half and Ryan Tyrell grabbed an equaliser as they went into the interval at 1-1.

The second half was an even affair but it was the league strugglers who snatched victory when Jamie Norman popped up with a 92nd-minute winner.

“It was a long overdue win, to be honest. We could have been a goal up in the first couple of seconds when we tried to lob the keeper and he tipped it onto the post,” said Partner.

“They went 1-0 up and then the referee got injured about half-an-hour in and I gave the players a hairdryer treatment.

“We changed formation, I told them what’s what and we went out and won 2-1.”

Calne Town will be disappointed after they threw away a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 at home to Oldland Abbotonians.

The hosts held a 2-1 advantage at half-time after Aaron Hopkins and Stuart Windsor both found the back of the net.

But the second half was one-way traffic as the visitors sealed both the comeback and the win.

Corsham Town also slipped to a defeat as they were beaten 2-1 by visitors Hengrove Athletic. Ben Pring got the goal for the home side.

Twelfth placed Devizes Town fell to a 2-0 defeat at Radstock Town.

Meanwhile, Malmesbury Victoria had a day to forget as they were thumped 5-1 by Warminster Town.
