TROWBRIDGE Windows-sponsored Trowbridge League newcomers Stockton & Codford are the new leaders of Division One after they overturned a 1-0 half time deficit at defending champions Luxol St Andrews to claim a 1-1 draw.

Tom Wade’s stunning strike into the top corner gave Luxol their interval advantage, however this was cancelled out 15 minutes from time when Jason Povey fired home what the hosts believed was a contentious penalty to earn Stockton their share of the spoils.

Warminster Town Reserves picked up maximum points for the first time this season, a 2-0 triumph at Trowbridge Town Reserves gave manager Peter Drew his first win since taking over the team from Mark Brefitt.

Trowbridge had the better of the first-half chances but it was Warminster who broke the deadlock on 60 minutes when Greg Richardson caught the hosts on the break to put the visitors 1-0 up.

With Trowbridge pressing for an equaliser they were caught out again in the 78th minute when Marcus Brown sealed victory for Warminster.

A second-half goal blitz saw Freshford United claim a convincing 7-3 success at Westbury Town, who had held Chris Birleson’s side to a 2-2 stalemate in the first period before the floodgates opened.

Gavin Eyre put Freshford ahead from a sublime free kick, Gary Tugwell got Westbury back on level terms from the penalty, only for Freshford to retake the lead courtesy of Weleed Bakali.

Tom Blackman then restored parity for Westbury but it was one-way traffic in the second half as Freshford took advantage of the wind.

Jack Mitchell, Nick Ross, Dave Percival from the penalty spot, Fyn McCarthy-Driver and a brilliant individual goal from Percival for his second of the afternoon wrapped up victory.
