THE newly-formed girls section at Chippenham Cricket Club enjoyed a successful tour to South Wilts.

With age ranges from eight to 12-year-olds, Chippenham only lost two wickets across two innings with totals of 96 and 99 respectively.

The Hardenhuish side then restricted their hosts to 78 and 76 in their two innings picking up 15 wickets along the way.

There were some impressive batting performances from captain Katie Dolman, Isla Thompson, Emilia Powell and Daisy Barrow.

However, the star of the show was Abbie Satchell as she took a hat-trick en route to her five wicket haul, while Emily Smith and Mia Bushnell shared five wickets between.

The club have been working very hard over the last year in starting up their girls section through a winter softball training programme for beginners with its ECB coaches, leading in to the season where the girls were all then regularly included in the U11s matches as well as having several matches of their own.
