SWINDON Town's EFL League One clash with Bristol Rovers, which was abandoned on Saturday, has been rearranged for Tuesday, September 20 (7.45pm) - but non-season ticket holders must purchase a new ticket for the fixture.

The match on Saturday was abandoned while goalless on the hour mark after torrential rain made the County Ground pitch unplayable.

Season ticket holders will be able to get into the rearranged fixture but others will have to puchase a new ticket - despite the club originally stating that those attending Saturday's match should retain their ticket stubs.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

Ticket refunds are also not available.

Adult prices will be £25 for the side stands and £19 for the Town End.

Town said: "Swindon Town would like to advise supporters that the club must still cover matchday costs as they would for any home game.''

Bristol Rovers explained on their website: "Due to high policing costs for the match Swindon have taken the decision to charge home and away supporters the full price for admission.''

The decision has already provoked criticism from supporters, with a petition against the move already in circulation.

Town's own customer charter says only: "In the unusual circumstance that a match is abandoned/postponed we will provide full details of the re arranged fixture on the official website and social media channels as soon as possible.''

Section five of the English Football League's (EFL) regulations says: "Every club must have a publicly stated policy regarding ticket refunds or other arrangements for abandoned Matches.''

Meanwhile, tickets for Town's first EFL Trophy game with a Chelsea Development side have gone on sale.

Tickets for the game, which will be played on Tuesday, September 13, will only be available in the Arkell's Stand and Town End.

Prices are £12 for adults, £8 for over 65s, students and under 21s, while under 18s are priced at £5.
