DEFEATS like the one we suffered up at Wolverhampton on Monday night do make you sit up and think about what you want to achieve this year.

Obviously Rosco was a bit disappointed afterwards and maybe he needs to have a look at the team and see if we need to do things a bit differently.

As a team, we need to talk about what we want to do – does everyone want to win the league this year?

People talk about making the play-offs at the end of the season but that isn’t what I am interested in, I want to win the league and that’s what every team should aim for at the start of the season.

That’s what our team should want and I’m sure that’s what the people who get behind us in the town and support us want too.

Wolves were the better side but a loss like that really shows that we are reliant on Jason Doyle too much.

If you look at his fixture list, I think he has only dropped about five or six points across Europe in the last month so he has been right on it and Monday was just one of those nights when even he couldn’t get it going. When that happens, we need the rest of the team to step up.

There’s no doubt it was a tough night and you don’t ever want to be losing by that much. It was just one of those nights where nothing was really happening for us. Anything we did didn’t seem to make a difference.

Results like that do happen. We have beaten teams pretty comfortably at the Abbey Stadium this season, so it does happen and it’s not nice to be on the receiving end of it this time.

We now have to refocus for King’s Lynn and I definitely think we can get a win there.

If we got some points at King’s Lynn, win our home meeting against Belle Vue on Thursday and then get something on Friday at Lakeside, which is another tough track where there is a big home advantage, then you’d have to say we’ve done a good week’s work.

If we’d got just a point at Wolves, then we would have been over the moon.

That’s just one point that we’ve missed out on, so with three more meetings to go, there’s still a chance that we can have a really good week.
