SWINDON Robins boss Alun Rossiter has demanded better from his side after they were taken apart by Wolverhampton Wolves last night.

The 62-30 drubbing at Monmore Green was their heaviest in the Elite League since a 34-point defeat away to Lakeside in April last year.

It was the worst possible start to a week where they will be riding four times and they were only able to claim one heat advantage, although even that was courtesy of skipper Jason Doyle finishing second on a tactical ride.

Rossiter said he was trying to advise his team throughout the meeting, however, it was not taken on board and Wolves stretched their unbeaten run at home to eight meetings.

“I am pretty disappointed,” said Rossiter.

“It was frustrating because it wasn’t so much how we lost, it was a case that we kept making the same mistakes in the first corner.

“After that, there wasn’t really much passing. We just kept drifting on the first corner and that enabled them to sneak up the inside.

“Fair play to them, they were very good and we hit them on a bad day but we were very poor.

“Nobody took on board what I was trying to tell them and that is the frustrating thing because I said we would only get past on that first corner and that is what happened.

“They are professionals and they should have been able to do the job that was being asked of them, especially when they were in different positions at the start gate.

“It is very disappointing when you tell them to do something and they don’t take that on board.”
