FOUR of Swindon Robins’ septet have been included in Australia’s squad for the FIM Speedway World Cup next month.

Swindon skipper Jason Doyle will lead the 10-man squad, who are managed by Belle Vue’s Mark Lemon, and will be joined by Josh Grajczonek, Rohan Tungate and Nick Morris as they battle for the final four places, with one Under 21 reserve rider also named.

Meanwhile, Robins team manager Alun Rossiter has named his 10-man Great Britain squad who will go straight into the final as the host nation.

The Lions will be captained by double world champion Tai Woffinden, with the squad also including Grand Prix rider Chris Harris and British champion Danny King.

The action gets underway with Event 1 at Danish track Vojens on Saturday, July 23, when hosts Denmark tackle six-time winners Poland, Russia and the Czech Republic.

Sweden then launch their title defence on home shale in Event 2 at Vastervik on Tuesday, July 26, when they face Australia, the USA and Germany.

The winners of each event join Great Britain in the Monster Energy SWC Final at Belle Vue Aces’ National Stadium in Manchester on Saturday, July 30.

The second and third-placed teams in Events 1 and 2 advance to the Race Off, also in Manchester, on Friday, July 29, with the winners of that showdown completing the final line-up.

For Events 1 and 2, each country must select four riders plus one under-21 reserve to make up their final side, with a deadline set for two weeks before the meeting.

Team line-ups for the Race Off and Final can be declared no later than 30 minutes after practice in Manchester, giving team managers the option to make changes from the opening events and see who impresses on the National Speedway Stadium circuit.
