SWINDON Town will host Championship side Reading as part of their pre-season programme this summer.
Luke Williams’ side will take on the Royals at the County Ground on Tuesday, July 19 (kick-off 7.45pm) following a pre-season tour to the Republic of Ireland.
The two sides last met in July 2011 in a pre-season fixture in Wiltshire, which saw Reading come out on top in a 2-1 win.
League of Ireland side Shelbourne had already announced a friendly at home to Town on Tuesday, July 12 but the club have now revealed that will form part of a six-day tour.
Williams will take a full Swindon squad across the Irish Sea between July 11-16 to put his players and staff through their paces in a training camp as well as two friendly matches as part of their preparations for the 2016/17 campaign.
Town will face Shelbourne at Tolka Park in Dublin on July 12 before taking on an as yet unnamed second opponent on July 16.
