DEVIZES Town manager Darran Walters was pleased with his side’s point away to Wells City but conceded they could have returned with all three.
Having handed Portishead a two goal lead in their 2-1 defeat on Saturday, it was a case of déjà vu as Dan Sloan missed a penalty before goals either side of half time had Walters’ side chasing the game.
A Jordan Matthews header halved the deficit before substitute Robbie Mitchell secured the point.
“I was delighted with that and if you had offered us a point before the game I would have taken it,” said Walters.
“In hindsight we should have got a few more and could have won the game.
“We missed a penalty before they scored and then had two or three chances in the first half.
“They scored two or three minutes before half time and their second came five minutes into the second half from an own goal.
“We were still playing well but they had a player sent off and I think that was a turning point in the second half.”
Devizes finish their campaign away to Almondsbury UWE on Saturday and Walters is looking to finish strongly.
“If we win we will go up a place and finish the season on a high,” he added.
“It has been a long and tough year but we are finishing it with a bit of form in our last 10 games and that gives us something to build on.”
