CHIPPENHAM-based Carl Mallinson is looking forward to his first bout since winning his Total Full Contact world kickboxing title earlier this month.

Following an explosive and exciting 12 round championship bout, local kickboxer Carl Mallinson, 26, achieved huge sporting success on Saturday, November 14, at Thornbury Bristol, when he was crowned Total Full Contact light-heavyweight kickboxing champion of the world.

Fighting against Dutch champion kickboxer, Alexandre Duforeau, the title bout was explosive from the first bell till the last.

Both men were worthy of the title, but at the end of the 12 rounds, the judges gave the decision to Mallinson who is now crowned TFC professional kickboxing champion of the world.

Mallinson, from Spartan’s Gym, Cricketts Lane Chippenham, trains and coaches many young championship hopefuls, is back in action this weekend in Calne.

“The world title is my greatest achievement in combat sports to date and I was over the moon (to have won it),” he said.

“I am next fighting in Calne on the November 28 and cannot wait to fight closer to home in front of all my friends and family. I would like to say a huge thank you to my great friends and sponsors Badboy Supplements, Jinkzed Tattooing and Ifixer.”

Head coach of the Spartan Gym Grant Mallinson, said: “To have the world champion coaching the kids and adults makes us very special and unique. I am so proud of my big brother.”

The evening started in brilliant fashion with eight-year-old Levi Murray beating Stevie Jay Haskins from Bristol’s Cobra Gym to win TFC southern area kickboxing title.

Alfie Connolly, representing the United Kingdom and competing for the vacant Cadets 5 Nations kickboxing title lost out to Brian Duchene from France.

The next Spartan’s boxer Luke Williamson, 11, won a unanimous victory decision against Radstock boxer Ashton Keen (12).

Harrison Connolly, 13, could not the repeat his previous success against English kickboxing champion Harvey Mitchell from Bristol’s Cobra Club with the Spartan's fighter losing unfortunately by a split decision.

Spartan 17-year-old Kyle Roberts fought hard but could not win the vacant TFC European kickboxing title, against Anthony Duchene, from France.
