ALUN Rossiter has given a rallying call to Swindon Robins fans to pack the Abbey and show their support for injured Darcy Ward.

With the postponement of last night’s trip to King’s Lynn, Swindon face the prospect of a first meeting without their number one as they host Leicester Lions at the Abbey Stadium this evening.

In what will be a tough night for all involved, Rossiter is hoping that the fans will be able to give his team the impetus they need with a return of the ‘Blunsdon Roar’.

“We just need to get all the fans to come out and give all the boys their support at the moment," said Rossiter.

“We need to try and fire the boys up. They need some inspiration and I believe the fans can play a massive part tomorrow.

“It is a real hard job, but we need to be professional.

“They are professional riders and we just need to do the best we can with a bad situation.

“Leicester are going to be a tough side but we have got to win it. If we win our next two home meetings then we will make the play-offs and that is a big incentive.”

Ward was expected back in the country today after being given the all clear by doctors to be moved from the hospital in Poland.

The full extent of Ward’s injuries are still not known, with his family wishing to keep them private for the time being, and Rossiter has reiterated that fans must be patient when it comes to the Aussie’s recovery.

“I am pleased that he is coming back to a good hospital and we just have to wait and see what happens,” added Rossiter.

“We have just got to hope and pray that there is a bit of luck in this.

“I don’t want to be intruding, because there is a lot going on, but I will go when the time is right.”

Leicester will be without Simon Lambert because his Premier League club Peterborough are riding at Ipswich.

Lambert's place is taken by Oliver Greenwood who will partner Steve Worrall to cover for Josh Auty at reserve.
