SWINDON Robins team boss Alun Rossiter is not getting carried away by his side’s recent good form as he prepares for a tough trip to Poole Pirates this evening.

The Robins lifted themselves back into the play-off places on Monday night with an impressive 51-39 comeback victory at Wolverhampton Wolves.

The win was their third in four meetings and team spirit appears to be at a season high since the arrival of Darcy Ward and Eduard Krcmar at the beginning of this month.

However, Rossiter is trying to keep his feet on the ground as only part one of a four-meeting week has been completed.

“That gives us a real good buzz and we’re now looking forward to the trip to Poole, and it gives us a lot of positives to go into it,” said Rossiter.

“They are all important meetings now. We have got to get as many points as we can.

“We’re level now with Belle Vue and if we can get some points at Poole, that will be a bonus.

“I’m not getting carried away. The thought that we could win at Wolves was there, but getting all four points is a massive lift.”

Danish rider Hans Andersen will be stepping into the void again for the Swindon Robins as he is set to guest in place of the injured Nick Morris tonight.

Morris was making his first return at Wolverhampton since sustaining a deep cut to his elbow, as well as slight concussion, when he tangled with Ryan Fisher going over the line guesting for Premier League side Somerset Rebels two weeks ago.

However, his return at Monmore Green was scuppered as he came off his bike spectacularly on the first bend in heat seven.

The fall led to the cut on his elbow re-opening and he returned to Great Western Hospital on Monday, where he received stitches, before being released in the early hours.

Andersen will now guest for Swindon for the fourth time this season against reigning Elite League champions Poole Pirates.

“Nick didn’t get in until about 3am (on Tuesday) morning and they have stitched him back up,” added Rossiter.

Meanwhile, the Abbey Stadium boss is still looking for a guest to replace injured reserve Lewis Rose for tomorrow’s meeting at Wimborne Road.
