CORSHAM School’s under 15 girls team have had the most successful indoor season in the school’s history, finishing third in two regional competitions.

At the start of campaign they took part in a competition at the Chippenham Dome against Sheldon, Hardenhuish and South Wilts Grammar, which Corsham won to go on and represent Wiltshire in the South West regional final held at UWE.

A total of nine schools from all over the South West and Wales were at the finals, with Corsham winning their group against Taunton School and Sandown School of the Isle of Wight.

Corsham progressed to take on two strong schools from Devon and Cornwall in the latter stages and although they lost both games narrowly, they still finished third overall.

Following the indoor season, the team also entered the Chance to Shine outdoor event and beat Sheldon, Lavington and South Wilts Grammar in their qualifiers before triumphing in a bowl-off against South Wilts for the right to represent Wiltshire in the South West regional finals at Bristol Grammar School.

There, they won against both Bath’s Hayesfield School and Isle of Wight school Sandown.

They were then pitted against King’s School of Winchester in the semi-finals and were narrowly beaten by seven runs but still finished third overall.
